EThames Business Continuing as Usual
As you may be aware, the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) has not re-designated the College for next academic year. This means that in the short-term we will not recruit students who would require student loans to our courses in September 2016 or January 2017. We can recruit any self-funding students. This decision by BIS does not pose any threat to current students who will continue to receive funding to complete their current programme of study, including students who may need to repeat their second year. You will continue to be taught as usual and we hope to provide you with a timetable for the academic year 2016-17 before the start of next term.
We may apply to BIS and the Higher Education Funding Agency for England (HEFCE) again in January 2017 when we will be in a position to provide them with very clear evidence that the College is, and continues to be in a financially secure organisation with a clear strategy for the future. We are also working to develop new university partnerships which will allow students to complete their studies to Bachelors’ Degree level with us in all subject areas.
I would like to take this opportunity to wish you a very enjoyable and relaxing summer break, and we look forward to welcoming you back in on the week commencing 12 September 2016.
